Spring is a time of new for Melinda this means trying, in school, in her habits and socially. Examples of then she is starting over with her habits and social life is when she is sitting next to Ivy who talks friendly to Melinda and she is not pushing away like people seam to do around Melinda, also in Melinda's habits where she begins to bite her lip and then realizes what she is doing and stops herself by having a hard candy. Spring is Melinda's light after the dark winter she realizes that school is almost over and she learns to cope with being around people. Spring is the time where a new Melinda begins to poke through the snow left by the harsh winter quarter.
