Post #6 The Major Theme:Family and Innocence

I think that one of the main themes of the book is family. One of the reasons I think this is because Holden always looks back on his dead brother Ali. Also that Holden thinks about his sister Phoebe and has high hopes for her to go far. The other main theme of the book is innocence. A reason I think this is because Holden (when thinking of The Catcher In the Rye poem) thinks of himself ad a person who guards children from the hostility of the world.
